Symptoms Of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases can go undetected and unnoticed in their initial stages since the symptoms of infections are not obvious in the earlier stages. This results in the infected person not seeking treatment at the appropriate period of time. Even when the signs and symptoms are apparent, they are mostly misconstrued to be the signs of other kinds of diseases not related to STDs. These diseases can result in irreparable complications, if they are not treated properly so, it is imperative to seek medical help when you are doubtful and you see signs resembling those of STDs. Symptoms of various sexually transmitted infections are as follows,

- Gonorrhea

Sometimes women affected by Gonorrhea do not experience any symptoms but generally, individuals infected with the disease experience vaginal discharge, discharge from penis and pain during urination. Without medical attention these symptoms can result in grave health risks like infertility in women, Fitzhugh-curtis syndrome, ectopic pregnancy and pelvic inflammatory disease. - Syphilis

- Lymphogranuloma Venereum

Characterized with the presence of abscesses in groin and rectum areas and fistulas, Lymphogranuloma venereum is cured using antibiotics.

- Chlamydia

Sexually transmitted disease Chlamydia is spread by bacteria and the disease is undetected since a major share of individuals affected by it experience no signs or symptoms. Burning sensation while urinating and discharge from penis or vagina are the common symptoms of the disease which can result in infertility and ectopic pregnancy.

- HIV/AIDS

HIV positive people do not show any kind of remarkable and unique symptoms or signs for many years, after being infected but a few weeks after contracting the disease, infected people experience headaches, night sweats, cough, chills and fever. With the progression of the disease, the individuals suffer from weight loss, dementia, cancers, pneumonia that finally lead to death.

- Hepatitis

Symptoms of Hepatitis include fever, flu-like symptoms, aches, yellow eyes and skin. In some infected individuals, the disease becomes complex resulting in diseases like liver cancer and cirrhosis. The effect of the disease can be countered by Hepatitis vaccinations.

- Candidiasis

Itching, burning sensation in sex organ and vaginal discharge are the signs of Candidiasis and sexually transmitted diseases like this can be treated using antifungal medication.

- Scabies

Highly contagious, Scabies is spread through sexual intercourse, skin, infected furniture, towels and sheets. Tiny mites infect skin and cause itching which becomes unbearable at nights.

- Pubic lice

Caused by parasites, Pubic lice or crabs is apparent through the itching in of the pubic region. Combing, anti-lice agents and creams are used to treat this unique type among other sexually transmitted diseases.
